Air to air photography is a favorite subject of mine and this was a great photo shoot of Mike McCann flying his classic 1933 Stinson JR. SR through the Kenai Mountains, Alaska in mid October. Thanks to Mark Munro and Mike Neese for making this photo shoot possible. Below area few more images of the Stinson from this flight.

mike is my favorite uncle
my brother flew one of his planes
The pictures are amazing and what’s more amazing is I found the web site first try.
Beautiful plane …. beautiful pilots.
Lets all learn to soar like eagles!
Mike McCann, my best friend and a character of all times, deserves to fly this rig. A timeless plane in timeless beauty of the last frontier and well preserved thanks to a perfect photographer.
Thanks for everything always Mike!!
You are the greatest.

Well, what can I say? My childhood buddy never ceases to amaze me. If you know Mike, you know a true pioneer. From humble and difficult beginnings, he’s succeeding in living his dream. Man, you are one incredible guy…time to write another book, buddy! After seeing these pics, I’ve got to head north for a visit. I guess I’ll have to wait until you return from Montana though. Oh yah, I forgot to mention the photos are truely fantastic. Great work!
Wow, I didn’t know that I was photographing a celebrity pilot! It’s been nice of all of you to stop by and leave comments, and thanks for your kind words about the images as well. Hopefully this won’t be the last time I get to photograph Mike and his airplanes.
Got to love all of those enjoying flight in Alaska, take the best of care
wow such beautiful Pictures…
I enjoyed looking at the pictures ! When can I go for a ride? Will we see you at Christmas?
Mike’s not really a celebrity, he just has a big family.
You’re pics are truely awesome, Scott, thanks for sharing. I’ve been up there a few times and can appreciate the beauty. I,ve added this page to my favorites so i’ll be looking for more pics.

i wouldn’t trust Mike McCoon to drive anything after he took my Dad for a ride in the Lima Bean. ask him about it, he doesn’t know his right from his left.
Keep your stick on the ice Mike.
