Alaska Magazine chose a Scott Dickerson photo for the double page lead to their 2008 Fishing Outlook. The photo was taken aboard the fishing charter boat Grand Aleutian captained by David Bayes during an early morning run out into Kachemak Bay, Alaska.
Alaska Magazine published one of Scott Dickerson’s snowkiting photos in their March edition. The double page spread placement shows James Brown kiting on Portage Lake, Alaska and leads the Outdoors section of the magazine.
Alaska Magazine featured one of Scott’s winter surfing photos in their December/January 2008 edition. The photo shows Homer, Alaska local surfer John Langham walking carefully over ice covered boulders as he returns from a mid-winter surf session. The double page spread leads the Outdoors section of the magazine.
Scott Dickerson’s photos of the Togiak Herring fishery in Bristol Bay, Alaska illustrated an article in Alaska Magazine’s July 2007 issue. Twelve photographs across ten pages brought this unique commercial fishery to life. Most of the images were aerial views captured over two seasons when Scott spent roughly 150 hours flying above the action in a fish spotting airplane.
Scott Dickerson spent a day on Kachemak Bay, Alaska photographing sport fishing for winter king salmon. The resulting images illustrated an article on this unique recreational fishery written by Les Palmer and published in the March edition of Alaska Magazine. Special thanks to the Bruce and Kalie Petska for inviting the photographer along for a day of fishing. As a side note – winter king is a favorite food of Scott’s.
